Thermal Imaging Camera Training

LEAF have invested in a thermal imaging camera. The aim is to allow Lymm residents to borrow it and – with a bit of basic help – try it out in their own homes.

On Wednesday 15th November, we hosted an information session on how to use the camera and were guided through it by Jon, from Climate Action Frodsham. The session covered:

  • Heat and energy efficiency in buildings
  • What are thermal cameras and how to use them
  • Live demo of commonly available cameras
  • Identifying common issues around the home
  • Possible measures homeowners can take to improve home insulation

Following the event we have started loaning out the camera. Whilst it is a cheap and cheerful model, it has already helped people to identify issues. One borrower advised they had picked up on three issues where their home was losing heat and have been able to rectify them!

We are hoping to run another course in the new year. If you’d like to borrow the camera please contact:
